Line

1. How does the author define "line"?
A line is a basic element in art, it is a dot that keeps going in a space Lines can be drawn as vertical, horizontal, diagonal, zigzag, curved, straight, etc. They can be short of long, wide or skinny, and rough or smooth.


2. What is required to make line? (This must be pretty important if it is so closely linked to line!)
Drawing tools are required to make a line such as a pencil or anything to draw with. Also, a ruler if the line is going to be straight and the artist needs to decide what type of line they're going to draw.




3. What is "dimension"?
Dimension is the length, height, or width of a shape or an object.


4. List many ways that artists create line.
Artists use different techniques to draw lines such as hatching, crosshatching, stippling wich can be an example of an implied line, changing the texture of the lines, etc. Artists always try to come up with unique ideas to make their paintings the best.


5. Define an "outline" and an "implied" line.
An outline is the edges of a paiting or anything drawn. 

An implied line can be dots that follow as a line.
